The Bluegrass Heritage Museum WWII permanent exhibit featuring my Uncle Lewis Adams, US Marine Combat Photographer, and Aunt Sophie Adams. 1) Lewis Adams, 2) Lewis and Charles Lindbergh, 3) Lewis in his darkroom, 4) Lewis and buddies before Sophie was gifted with the Hula skirt, 5) My beautiful Aunt Sophie doing justice to the grass skirt. While in Kentucky over the past two weeks, the get-togethers, lunches, dinners and parties with family and friends were, and will remain, epic. There was even a private master bourbon-ball-making class. Helping my BFF Roberta Skinner with the 2014 Bluegrass Honor Flight was an experience beyond words. The early morning miles-long walk in the mist with my cousin Anne Bruce (and our gracious hostess) through the acreage, thoroughbred barns and centuries-old home of one of Kentuckys historic horse farms was a rare and much appreciated privilege. However, this post is about the Bluegrass Heritage Museum permanent exhibit featuring my aunt and uncle, Sophie and Lewis Adams.
