The Boardman home is shown, formerly on the SE corner of East Main and North 3rd Avenue, where the hospital now stands. This became the original hospital building. If youve ever seen a really old photo of the hospital, you may recognize the house. The original hospital wing facing 3rd Avenue was built as an attachment to this house and there are some early photos of it. The house was torn down shortly after. The Hon. H.E.J. Boardman and family are buried in one of the most interesting looking plots at Riverside--designed in a circular layout, with one large monument and multiple families buried around it. The monument has each family name on it, facing that family plot. See the photos of the Boardman side and the plat map showing the layout of the graves here at Riverside. Its the only section built like this. I think its really interesting, and curious. There almost had to be some collaboration between the families to make this happen, wouldnt you think?
