The Book Of James vers 1:9-11 key verses: James 1:9-11 NIV 1:9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 1:10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation -since they will pass away like a wild flower. 1:11 For the sun rises with scorching heatand withers the plant, its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. in the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. - Now i have some notes i wanted to add with this from my study bible i hope this ties in with these verses and video 1:9 Christianity brings a new dignity to the poor and not-so-influential people of this world. That dignity is most apparent in the church, were there are not (or should not be) any class distinctions. All believers share the distinction and dignity of being changed by the gospel and being charged with the mission of taking that same Good News to the rest of the world. Believers know they have dignity before God because Christ Died for them. Marry, the mother of Jesus, is a great example of this truth. The Dignity that she displayed when she realized what God had done for her is seen in her prayer of praise, called the magnificat (Luke 1:46-55). Whatever our social or economic situation, James challenges us to see beyond it to our eternal advantages. what we can have in Jesus Christ outweighs anything in this life. Knowing him gives us our high position, where we find our true dignity. Luke 1:46-55 And Marry said: My sould glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now all generations will call me blessed, fro the mighty one has done great things fofr me-holy is his name. His mercy extendes to those who fear him, from generation, he has performed mighty deeds with his arm, he has scatterd those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has sent the rich away empty. he has helped his servant Israel, reembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors. James 1:9-11 The poor should be glad that riches mean nothing to God; otherwise these people would be considered unworthy. the rich should be glad that money means nothing to God, because money is easily lost. We find true wealth by devloping our spiritual life, not by developing our financial assets God is interested in what is lasting our souls, not what is temporary like our money and possessions. See Mark 4:18-19 for jesus words on this subject. Strive to treat each person as Christ would treat him or her. Marrk 4:18-19 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulnesss of wealth and the desires for others things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. James 1:10-11 If wealth, Power, and status mean nothing to God, why do we attribute so much importance to them and so much honor to those who possess them? Do your materical possessions give you goals and your only reason for living ? If they were gone, what would be left? what you have in your heart, not your bank account, matters to God and endures for eternity. youtu.be/E1Q1Q2RflNI
