The Book of Revelation : Chapter 8:1-6. the 7th seal is broken and opened and there is silence in heaven for about 1/2 of an hour. DEAD SILENCE; you know the saying, you could hear a pin drop ! why this silence ? i will give you some scripture to read and then you will understand why this silence ! remember, let the scripture interpret itself ! Habakkuk 2:20, Zephaniah 1:7, and Zechariah 2:13. take my advice and read more than just these scriptures. read a chapter in front of them and behind them where possible. the picture gets more and more clear the more you read and the more often you go back and read it again. get on line and do searches on the scripture. but at least read these. you are looking at old testament symbolism here. in the prophets, when the Almighty goes forth in judgment , there is a silence in heaven before He executes. here in rev. we see a similer occurence. it prepares us for the terrible judgment on earths inhabitants, not just men and women of earth, but plants, mountains, clouds, etc. the inhabitants of heaven have seen it before, Gods wrath, they stand spell-bound, in silent amazement. and unless you think God is cruel, please read the following scriptures, St. Luke 19:41, Lamentations 3:33, and Ezekiel 33:11. God takes no pleasure in the death or punishment of the sinner. he is LONG SUFFERING and desires MERCY. but pushed too long and stampled on too often and sooner or later the wicked are going to suffer His wrath. so here we see certain angels take their places and wait for their time to execute, then they perform their duty. we see a golden censer in the angels hand and he is given MUCH INCENSE. incense is a symbol of the prayers of the saints. this incense of prayers go up before God. remember, these are the saints who have been persecuted and or killed simply because they are Christians. so now the censer is empty and the angel then fills it with fire from off of this alter of prayer and throws it to earth. the fury of God is about to be unleashed ! 7 other angels take up their places and are given trumpets of judgments and stand ready to sound their horns. when you were young did you ever get sent to your room by your father ? you did something to anger him and now you were going to get a whippen with the belt. you sat in silence knowing what was about to take place and you knew it was going to hurt. you also knew you deseved what was coming. you were teared up before he even came in your room. so it is here, only this Father, GOD, has the power to give you life or death. read also rev. 6:9, isaiah 53:12 and romans 8:26-34.
