The Book of Revelation : chapter 8:7-13. the 1st 4 trumpets. notice the phrase in verse 7, "... and they were thrown to the earth, ..." my friends, God is in control, He is angry with what is going on in this world in these last days. and i hate to say this but the united states is just as guilty as the rest of the world. barak obama is supposed to be a Christian, by his own testamony, but his stance on certain moral issues do not hold up in the courts of the fundamental teachings of todays churches. and the mass of people as a whole are slowly drifting away from the teachings of the church. even certain denominations are and have been drifting away from what Jesus started when he was here on earth, read rev. chapters 1 through 3. anti Christs were present from the very beginning. but look at todays world, it is getting very bad these days and witness all the natural disasters in the world today. they are fortold here in revelation. notice blood is mixed with the hail and fire that the angel throws to the earth. so the character of these judgments is that they are very destructive ! these things take place during this whole dispensation, from the 1st to the 2nd coming of Christ. that is what we are seeing here in chapters 8-11. the second angel sounds. we see what LOOKS LIKE a mountain, ALL ABLAZE,cast into the sea. NOT AN ACTUAL MOUNTAIN ! but notice the extreme dreadfullness of the occurence, it is ," all ablaze ". i might add, part of the reason for Gods anger is that the world is persecuting the church, Gods people. even killing some of them. God hears the churches prayers as well, rev. 6:9, calling for a just judgment against the wicked of the world. indeed, the church is a part of the running of the world, for we are praying constantly for Gods mercy and for Gods will on earth to be done. we help judge ! so, we see that God does not hesitate to use both land and sea to punish the wicked of this world. and the more severe and the more in number these calamities is a sign of how far the world has gone in its wickedness. in other words, the punishment fits the crime ! for God is a righteous God, He is never caught doing something unfair ! and, as i have said before, these disasters DO NOT HARM THE CHILDREN OF GOD ! for should they die during these disasters they go to heaven, not so for the sinner ! using mountains for a symbol of trouble and commotion in scripture is nothing new. please read , job 9:5, nahum 1:5, micah 1:4, ezekiel 38:20, isaiah 34:3 and 54:10, psalm 46:2.
