The Bourne Police Department sends its thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Officer Charles Kondek and all the members of the Tarpon Springs Police Department. Officer Kondek was murdered while responding to a disturbance call in Tarpon Springs, FL. Officer Kondek is survived by his wife and five children. This is the 113th Line of Duty death in the United States this year, an increase of 11 percent over last year. The total Line of Duty deaths caused by gunfire has increased 59 percent since last year.
