The Brown Booby, juvenile, which I discovered on Gualala Point Island (GPI) off the northern Sonoma County coast of California this past Sunday, October19th, was still present this morning. Though The Sea Ranch is a private HOA community, public access to this part of the coastal Salal loop trail is possible from Gualala Point Regional Park just north of the 50 year-old development. GPI is visible with binocs or spotting scope from between Trail Marker # 71 - 71A - 72 or 73. The bird leaves with the large mixed Cormorant flock in the morning after the sun hits the island, but returned yesterday ~ mid-day.
