The Bureau for Paranormal Investigations and Defense is looking for writers who are very imaginative and have great writing skills to fill the open roles we have for male agents. The roles come with ready made profiles but has barely been written. We are NOT based on a book series, we are an indy group writing our own story. What does that mean to you as writer? It means we have done the work by creating the profile but the character is still under development. It also means creative license as long as the basics that have already been written are kept and not contradicted. One role we have open is for Henri DuBeau. He’s a warlock and Bureau Chief, so he’s the boss so to speak. At least for our division. Yes, he’s very badass and is very powerful. He was happily married to another agent. He lost her when she was killed on a mission a few decades ago. He never remarried and still misses her terribly. They never had any children and so he acts as a surrogate father to Maeve O’Hara and Regan D’Angelo, both agents and sisters to the character which is our other open role, Finn O’Hara. Henri has the potential to be a very kick ass character if written by the correct person. He is also very good friends with Christian D’Angelo, his second in charge. The other role open is for Finn O’Hara who is my brother and a Fae Warrior. He served in the Special Forces in the human Irish military but is now an agent recruited by Henri DuBeau. The Fae in our story are not “faeries” with wings like tinkerbell. We are a species that inhabited Ireland in ancient times but then moved to the Fae Realm. We are sometimes referred to as the Tuatha Dé Danann. He is very loyal and protective of his family and friends. My sister Regan and I are his favorite siblings as we are his younger sisters. He’s the oldest of 8 children. He is also quite the “ladies man”. He loves the lasses and is a flirt and very much a player when it comes to them. Now for a little info on the Bureau for Paranormal Investigation and Defense a.k.a BPID. What is it? We are an ancient organization that has been around since the fight between good and evil began. We have evolved throughout the ages depending on the need at the time, as has our name. We are a stand alone entity and not affiliated with any other law enforcement organization. The Bureau is worldwide with our main headquarters in Rome just next to Vatican City. However, there are subsidiaries located all over the world. Our story takes place mainly in Savannah where the United States division is based. The BPID is kept secret from humans. Our mission is not only to protect them from evil but also to keep them from finding out that paranormal/supernatural creatures are real and not just found in their books, movies or nightmares. However, all paranormals know about us and we help to protect the good of our kind against the evil. Our cases take us all over the world, but they are not limited to the human realm. We also travel to other realms to do our job. The agents of The Bureau come from all paranormal/supernatural species so we are a very diverse organization. What are our requirements and how do you apply? Please be over 25 years of age and mature. This is not due to content but to the fact that our writers are all over that age. Be able to post a thread once a week in addition, have time to devote to the group and your writing partner. Know how to use good grammar and punctuation. It is also helpful to be somewhat familiar with our story and the character for which you wish to apply. I will include the link to the Read Only page where our story is written so that you can request to be added AS A READER ONLY in order for you to become familiar with the roles. We do have an audition process as well. Please be prepared to show a sample of your writing. Send one of the admin a message; we will get you set up for the audition.
