The Bush Ninja Saga, Moz to Zim: Made it to Mutare, Zimbabwe last - TopicsExpress

The Bush Ninja Saga, Moz to Zim: Made it to Mutare, Zimbabwe last night, after a whole day of traveling. Was up all night before in Vilankulos, Mozambique. Had intended to spend the night out on the town, but ended up bartending for my friend Toñi Vazquez until 3am! (A bunch of pipe line workers came to her lodge just before we headed out and dropped more than a few thousand! The power went out, so we used my glow poi as lanterns! Always a pleasure to save the day... err night. It was good fun, and a reminder that I could be a bartender.) Id had a class scheduled for last night, but I had to cancel it (first time ever! sad face :-( ) because I was offered a ride by a wonderful friend Lisa, a burner from Sweden, whom Id kept running into in Mozam, and turns out Id seen perform at Afrikaburn. (Happy Face! :-) )The ride cut a huge portion of time and cost off my trip yesterday, and allowed me to get to Zim in a day, from the east coast of Moz. Lisa and I watched the sunrise through the fog, and it reminded me of a line from my favorite toast, and when the rosy sun appears, he drinks the oceans misty tears. We share a special connection, and I truly hope to see her again (maybe at Borderlands, the Swedish Burn?!) It was a perfect example of how holding hands at dawn can be more fulfilling and way more gratifying and memorable than any random hookup.
