The Butchers Restaurant Lamia 10/10 Finally after many months of drooling over the Framers Platter pictures from The Butchers, Lamia, Last night Jack and I sat down to eat probably the best Farang Food we have eaten on Samui. The Butchers is a smallish restaurant with cosy surroundings opposite The Shamrock Bar. We where welcomed in by a Mr Miyaki look alike ( karate Kid) he did his job well and explained fully about Jacks choices for his steak. Our other waitress was super nice, checking throughout the meal that everything was ok :) Yves Rinders, a friendly French chap, the owner speaks with so much passion about his food and of what he has tried to achieve in his restaurant. Good for you Mr Rinders I think you have achieved it :) I ordered the Farmers Platter, Wow just delish the combinations of the cheeses and cold meats where just a perfect combination, complemented with a mixture of nuts and gherkins and a serving of yummy bread and butter which tasted slightly garlic. I was literally in Heaven. Everything on the plate worked well on the pallet. Presentation different than most restaurants the food is served on a very heavy granite slab, great idea Jack ordered Tenderloin Steak this came with choices of sauces and side orders. Jack choose the Pepper sauce and fries. The serving was generous, the steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The flavor from the meat mouthwatering, so much so Jack didnt want to pour his pepper sauce over and ruin it, so we dipped our fries in it, not so classy, but what the hell :) Again presentation different, the food came served on a wooden cutting board - I recommend you visit Butchers for a super night and delish food. Well-done Butchers
