The CAWS a Major Success!! The property may soon be ours, but we still need your help! Hello Amazing Supporters! I apologize for leaving you hanging for a whole month! Where has the time gone? As you can clearly see we did not reach our lofty goal of $100,000, though when the dust settled and the final cheques came through the mail, we reached close $35,000 with almost 200 funders!!! An amazing feat! Thank you! As I mentioned in the last post, Integris Credit Union, is partnering with us to help our dream become a reality. The final formality is a commercial property appraisal, which is being conducted right now, and if all goes as planned, the property will be ours by December 1st! We will officially know in a couple of weeks. Major kudos to Integris for believing in our project and being the AMAZING community supporters that they are! Those of you that come to ArtsWells will know that Integris has been a sponsor of the festival since 2009. As this dream becomes a reality, the Island Mountain Arts board and staff have been hard at work crunching numbers and strategizing the next phase of the CAWS for the Nest. Its time for phase two of the campaign! This project is only really beginning now, as the costs of owning a property, carrying a mortgage and doing renovations are huge, especially in these critical first few years. Donate a day of the mortgage at $50 ($1500 month x 12 months / 365 days of the year) and you will get a tax receipt (of course), name on the donation plaque and will also be entered into a draw to win the coveted ArtsWells Prize Package (filled with amazing CDs of 2014 ArtsWells artists, plus 2014 AW Merchandise and a Family Pass to the 2015 ArtsWells Festival, total package valued at $2000). Donate a month of the mortgage at $1500 and the receive the aforementioned perks, plus an original Toni Onley Serigraph Screen Print, donated by the Toni Onley Estate (value $1500, note: not also eligible for a tax receipt). You can also support the project through buying tickets to this exciting fundraiser! Island Mountain Arts is putting on a major New Years Eve Dance Party at the Wells Community Hall with award winning world music DJ, Adham Shaikh as a fundraiser for ArtsWells and the CAWS for the Nest.
