The CCAP Synod of Livingstonia says it does not prohibit its Ministers to vie for political office provided they retire, resign or opt for secondment to other institutions. “They must choose whether to serve people under God’s guidance or Political Parties,” General Secretary Reverend Levi Nyondo said. The Synod said if Ministers do not choose one of the three options, yet they are running for political office then they will face dismissal. Reverend Nyondo was reacting to Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango’s change of mind to contest as Member of Parliament (MP) for Mzimba Solola in the next year’s tripartite elections.
