The CDC International Policy Forum and CDC-USA convention is coming up soon in Maryland, USA Date - Thursday, April 17 to Monday,April 21, 2014. Following the CDC national convention in 2012 that emerged the current national executive committee under the leadership of National Chairman George Solo. The CDC established a national policy department and by May 2013 held a formal three day policy forum at its national headquarters in Monrovia, Liberia. That was the very first time for a political party to hold a policy discussion internally in Liberia. The fact is, Liberians are living through a time of major economic and social change that is presenting new challenges to social policy formation and implementation. Our nation is facing fiscal pressures, and increasing mismanagement of scare national resources deepens the need for an alternative governance process. Current demographic shift, terrifying inequality, environmental degradation and technological throwback presents urgency for the development and promotion of innovative social disruptions and also presents opportunities to learn lessons and draw on existing research. The CDC 2014 Policy Conference will address many of the most important challenges facing Liberias policy makers, and provide a platform for analysis, findings, and debate about the implications of what works and the impact of social policy on a society.
