The CST Nominating Committee is pleased to present this slate for Election Night on October 7th, 7:00 pm, at the Corn Stock Theatre Center. Please renew/get your membership, and join us! The slate: George Maxedon George lives in Henry with his wife Lori and is employed as a process engineer at Mennie Machine Co. in Mark, IL. Other than about 4 years when George served in the U.S. Navy and another 3 or 4 years when he was starting his family, George has been involved in community theatre since 1987. The groups with which he has been involved are Stage 212 in LaSalle, the former Summer Stage Playhouse in Spring Valley, River Valley Players in Henry, and in the Peoria venue Peoria Players, Eastlight, and of course here at Corn Stock. Among the Peoria groups, Georges involvement has primarily been on stage, but over the years he has had a great deal of backstage experience as well including director, music director, stage manager, light design & execution, sound operator, set design, and construction. With his engineering background, George has strong problem solving skills and knows how to think outside the box when presented with technical challenges. George also has a small side business and understands the challenges of operating a business. He realizes that like any other business community theatres have to operate with the same guidelines in mind such as setting budgets, scheduling, setting short & long term goals, project timelines, and of course supply & demand. George also has previous board member experience. He served on the board, financial committee, and as sound coordinator for Stage 212. At River Valley Players he served two terms on the board and held various positions including technical director, vice president, and president. In addition to these boards, he has also served on the Henry-Senachwine school board and was elected as first ward alderman of the Henry city council. George would like to put this knowledge and experience to work for Corn Stock and would appreciate your votes to elect him to the board. Bryan Blanks Bryan has been involved in Corn Stock since he played the role of Jigger in Carousel when he was 19 years old. Ten years later, Bryan is proud to be an active part of the Corn Stock Theatre family. Since his first show in 2004, Bryan has performed, worked back stage and directed for Corn Sock Theatre. Outside of Corn Stock, Bryan has served on numerous theatre committees; he also serves as the theatre program director for St. Vincent dePaul School. Bryan has strived to promote diversity within our theatre community in addition to promoting quality theatre that encourages our youth to get involved. At a young age, Bryan was fortunate to work with true theatre educators and mentors at CST to gain an impressive breadth of knowledge that he would eventually use as a director and performer. As a CST board member, Bryan hopes to have the chance to pay it forward, so that new and old volunteers alike have a welcoming and positive atmosphere to exercise their creative and artistic abilities. Nathan Irwin I am honored and thrilled by the nomination to serve on the CST Board. Ive been active with the theatre pretty steadily since 2002. Over those years, Ive appeared on stage at both the Tent and the Winter Playhouse. Ive also had a hand behind the scenes as stage manager and occasional sound designer. And Ive pitched in on the Lab committee and Marketing committee. My first term on the Board was a challenging, but rewarding experience; I learned a lot about how the theatre operates, and I hope that Ill be able to contribute positively to an organization thats been such an important part of my life in Peoria. Thank you for your consideration. Lee Wenger I first joined Corn Stock in the summer of 1967 as a member of the cast of Jack Steenrods production of Once Upon a Mattress. Im a Peoria native, Bradley graduate, AADA graduate and former member of Equity and SAG. Im currently on the air at WCBU 89.9 Peoria Public Radio from Bradley University, where I promote the arts as much as possible. Im a performer and I have over 50 years of experience. If you think thats of any value to the Corn Stock Board, I offer my service. Thank you.
