The Cairns Show was always regarded as a dressing up occasion but - TopicsExpress

The Cairns Show was always regarded as a dressing up occasion but when you couldnt afford a new outfit, your parents made do with what you had, including parts of your school uniform :-( . Heres yours truly with my oldest mate, Keith Solomon and his mother, Irene (decd), at the Cairns Show circa 1956. From memory it was taken in the vicinity of the sugar cane display just inside the front gate. The Gadget Man used to have a stand close by. Can anyone recall any of the other unusual must see stalls at the show?
