The California Wildlife Conservation Board awarded the National Forest Foundation more than $1.2 million for habitat restoration in Big Tujunga Canyon on the U.S. Forest Services Angeles National Forest. The Forest Service and the National Forest Foundation will co-manage several projects, including removal of invasive weed species for more than 200 stream miles followed by the planting of oaks and willow cuttings. In-stream restoration will also take place to further recovery efforts for the federally threatened Santa Ana sucker, and the arroyo chub and Santa Ana speckled dace. This restoration effort is one of numerous projects being undertaken nationally in support of #treasuredlandscapes. Photo Credits: USFS/J.Nathan and USFWS
