The Call for Applications for 2014 Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) Team Awards is now open! The CLP is seeking teams of early career conservationists who display a strong commitment to conservation and demonstrate leadership potential. All team members should have a desire to be impact multipliers across the conservation sector with the ultimate goal to mitigate threats to biological diversity. The Programme currently works toward its aims by offering awards, training and mentoring support. The CLP offers three levels of Conservation Awards: · Future Conservationist Awards: Approximately 20 awards of up to $15,000 each · Conservation Follow-up Awards: Approximately 6 awards of up to $25,000 each (available only to previous CLP Future Conservationist Award winners) · Conservation Leadership Awards: 1 award of $50,000 (available only to previous CLP Follow-up Award winners) The application deadline for full proposals is 11th November 2013 for ALL applications. Please visit the CLP website for detailed eligibility criteria, guidelines and an application form. The CLP is looking to build on an exciting 2013 which saw the first awards made to projects in Afghanistan, Cape Verde, Bhutan and Samoa. Recent achievements by CLP-funded teams include the reintroduction of 50 Critically Endangered Philippine Crocodiles (Crocodylus mindorensis), expansion of Lake Arpi national park to include all known populations of the Critically Endangered Darevsky’s Viper (Vipera darevskii) and the discovery of two new species of Salamander in North-East Colombia (Bolitoglossa leandrae & Bolitoglossa tamaense). Those applying for Conservation Follow-up and Conservation Leadership Awards must submit a Logical Framework to the CLP by Tuesday, 1st October 2013. Awards will be announced in April 2014.
