The Calling of Our Father – The Basic Calling Part 13 What is - TopicsExpress

The Calling of Our Father – The Basic Calling Part 13 What is ministry? Ministry is service; it means I SERVE you. Service here refers to two things: 1) “I do something for YOU or to YOU that helps you”, 2) “I give something to YOU”. So, when someone says, “I am called to the ministry”, that person is saying, “I am called to do something for others and/or I am called to give something to others.” What parameters would you use to rate a ministry’s greatness? When you ask some people about ministry or how they are doing in ministry, they quickly want to measure their success by PHYSICAL THINGS such as the property, facility, media promotion on TV or Radio, books etc. Also, you find ministers who compare themselves with others and even think they are drowning because their next-door neighbour has got a larger property, is on TV, radio, has lots of equipments and so on. Many use these to determine whether or not they are making progress in ministry. There is the tendency to feel overwhelmed by all of those outward things that are evident. Just imagine, you don’t have any book released and some people released lot of books. You may wonder, “What am I doing? Maybe I am failing or maybe I am not supposed to be in the ministry at all.” The truth is that all of these things are NOT really the determinants of a ministry’s progress. The Lord Jesus alluded to this when He taught in Luke 12:15, “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a mans life consists not in the ABUNDANCE of the THINGS which he possesses.” You are NOT A FAILURE because someone else is succeeding. You must measure your success by the accomplishment of what God told YOU to do and not what He has told SOMEONE ELSE to do. Alleluia! Amen! (Taken from my message - The Calling of Our Father series). Share these eternal treasures, which have eternal value, instead of just sharing earthly/natural treasures which fade away. If this devotional has blessed you, kindly acknowledge & give it to someone. Be a blessing to others, for it is more blessed to give than to receive! The principle of success and prosperity in the scripture is GIVING/SHARING! jesusislordministries.in
