The Candidates Forum sponsored by the West End Pride last night was a great success!! We had 8 of the 9 candidates present and coverage by the local media. The format was that of a large political arena and our moderator, Ollie Mae Carroll did a superb job. We held the candidates to task as to what their vision was for the growth of the city, crime, housing, lack of recreational outlets for the youth and to install crosswalks at the streets adjacent to Livingstone College. Most importantly, what will be done for our community AFTER the campaign period is over? The candidates all rose to the occasion in their responses. Now....it is up to the VOTERS to go to the polls on November 5th and in 6 months come back together and get a progress report!! Good job WEP and my fellow West End neighbors!!
