The Capital Food Blitz is an annual food drive for the Ottawa Food - TopicsExpress

The Capital Food Blitz is an annual food drive for the Ottawa Food Bank, an organization very close to my heart. Nine years ago, I joined forces with the Food Bank on the Blitz, and last year we raised over 45,000 pounds of food for our community! With the next major food drive not scheduled until the fall, this food drive brings much needed food into the Ottawa Food Bank warehouse to be distributed over the summer to the 140 Member Agencies it supports throughout the Region. This year the Capital Food Blitz takes place during the afternoon of June 15, and I am asking you to volunteer your time to help us collect donations for the Ottawa Food Bank. My office is responsible to two stores in our community: - Superstore Westboro (190 Richmond Road) - Loblaws Isabella (64 Isabella Street) We need volunteers who can be at these stores from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm to hand out bags for shoppers to fill with donations. Please contact my Executive Assistant, Lindsay Whitty at [email protected], or 613-722-6414 if you are able to join us, or if you need more information. With your help, we can make a real difference for families who depend on the Ottawa Food Bank to fill their cupboards.
