The Caring Cupboard is a ministry enabled by volunteers to give to people in need. We also receive. In the past year, we received more than 2,000 food and human dignity items, hundreds of loaves of bread and baked treats from Bit of Swiss Bakery and Panera Bread, hundreds of pounds of vegetables from Farmer George, and monetary donations. There have been moments of concern when the balance seemed low. Decisions about how to stretch dollars and resources were made after discussion and prayerful consideration. We are so thankful for grants from Honor Credit Union, Erny Construction, and LS Brown Financial used to purchase a refrigerator. We gave 27 Turkey Dinner Boxes at Thanksgiving. We provided food for WSBCs Soup Kitchen ministry. A grant from the Goodfellows Fund and an anonymous donation were received at the end of November and the beginning of December. A couple from Baroda asked for help to maximize their gift to the village of Baroda Christmas baskets. That partnership resulted in a gift of $10,000 designated for the Caring Cupboard. The gift will allow the Caring Cupboard to maintain a variety of stock and to give consistently throughout the year. Patrick & Teri have shared their heart to give to their neighbors in need. Please pray with me and other key people about a new idea that has been percolating. We are working together to identify volunteers & resources and planning dates for The Caring Cupboard to grow in a new direction. Once everything is in place, we will share how and when this new endeavor will be made available to Caring Cupboard clients and their families. Thank you to the volunteers, givers, and donors who keep the Caring Cupboard open.
