The Cebu City Council has expressed support to Senate Bill No. 2118 or “An Act Declaring Filipino Sign Language as the National Sign Language of the Filipino Deaf and the Official Language of Government In All Transactions Involving The Deaf, And Mandating Its Use In Schools, Broadcast Media, And Workplaces. In his resolution, Councilor Alvin Dizon urged the Senate of the Philippines to consider the aforementioned Bill as a priority legislative measure and work towards the passage of the bill as soon as possible.
