The Center for Social Concerns is cosponsoring Between Hope and Pain: Reflections on a Shared Pilgrimage Through Uganda and Rwanda today from 4-5:30pm in the Hesburgh Center Auditorium. Last summer, Fr. Emmanuel Katongole led a group of Notre Dame faculty, staff and graduate students on a Pilgrimage of Pain and Hope through Uganda and Rwanda. The pilgrimage included visits to places of historical significance (the source of the Nile, Genocide memorials); religious shrines (Uganda Martyrs, Kibeho Marian Shrine); cultural destinations (Queen Elizabeth National Game Park, Ndele cultural center); and meetings with leaders at Holy Cross missions in Uganda, St. Judes farm, and others involved in peace and justice work in Uganda and Rwanda. Notre Dame faculty, staff, graduate student are invited to hear Fr. Emmanuel and the pilgrims reflect on their experiences in Uganda and Rwanda, sharing photos and stories. You are invited to ask questions and consider how you might join or support the pilgrimage in 2015.
