The Centre for Earth and Atmospheric Sciences of Sathyabama University organized REGIONAL LEVEL CLIMATE CHANGE EDUCATION, AWARENESS & TRAINING FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS-CCATS’ 2014 which was sponsored by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Govt. of India. The Presidential address was given by our honorable Chancellor Col.Dr.Jeppiaar in which he delivered the impacts of Climate Change and various pollutions occurred at our country and how to eradicate the problems also he asked the school children to communicate the issues related to climate change and pollutions and how to avoid these issues in future for the societies. The chief guests Dr. M.Jayanthi, IFS, Additional Director for Environment, Govt. of Tamil Nadu who had highlighted the environmental factors and issues at our state and how these issues are planned to overcome the society and gave awareness to the school children on the climate change and Dr. S.R.Ramanan, Director Area Cyclone Warning Centre, Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai explained about the cyclones and their formation, various climate change effects occurs in our country and the awareness about the environmental, water, solar issues to the students. A quiz program was also conducted by the Department of Mathematics to the students.
