The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a passenger fatality. The crash occurred in the 17000 block of Branders Bridge Road around 11:45 p.m. on October 16, 2014. Police said that a 2001 Acura was traveling south on Branders Bridge Road when it left the road striking a tree. The driver of the Acura and a passenger were transported to VCU Medical Center for treatment. A second passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver and passengers is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police continue their investigation into this crash.
