The Children’s Place Sumter Mall I have been getting a little slack on visiting new places and reporting them. Also, most of the coverage has been eating establishments. So, I went out of my element. I went twice today. The first time was at 12:30 pm .Two young ladies were ringing up a consumer. They saw me when I entered the premise. They didn’t speak. Strike one. I walked around the store, depicting a character of someone who was basically didn’t know what he was surveying. They did not approach me whatsoever. Strike two. I walked out, they did not say bye, kiss my hiney, or anything. Strike three, I am out of there. However, this is a new place, and when I was observing it today, it was clean, nice and neat. So I decided to go back again tonight. I made the right decision. I had some family members with me so I was really undercover. I normally dress in a suit and tie, which was not the case tonight. I was dressed like a bum. As soon, retract, before I even walked in the store, a young lady greeted me with a smile and a very warm greeting. I couldn’t believe the difference. There were some other ladies in there that were working, and putting out stock. The store was in perfect shape. I was acting like I was looking for little girl socks. I even bought some. The young lady, whose name is Angel, is a perfect customer service person. She helped me, then also assisted me at the register. She asked me if I wanted to sign up for a rewards card, and told me some other things about the store. This young lady had no idea who I was. Angel went out of her way to help me. Why would this lady be so nice to a bum who bought a 3 dollar purchase? The reason being is she is the picture of perfect customer service. She was nice, friendly and cared. She knows who signs her paycheck, the customer. She knows that I might come back and buy maybe Christmas items. This is a very smart young lady. She knows what she is doing. I recommend this place whole heartedly. That’s why I give places second chances. I don’t know why those two young ladies at noon didn’t speak to me. Maybe the register was messing up. Maybe they had an unruly customer. I don’t know. There is always two sides of a story. But the side tonight, is the side that I will remember. I don’t know if Angel is the manager or not, but if she isn’t, she should be. This girl is good. Thank you Angel for caring.
