The Chosen One There are days when time seems to fly by so fast that you hate to blink, and then there are the days that seem like time stands still and you can’t wait for it to pass. Today is one of the most important days in a Christian’s life, the day Jesus died on the cross for us. I’m sure that time had gone by very fast in his eyes during his life as he did his ministry. I’m also pretty sure that time stood still as he slowly perished away as he hung there waiting. He knew his fate from the very beginning of his short time here on earth but he carried on and made his mark knowing what was right and followed the script that was written for him. The last words heard in his short life here on earth are etched sharply in my mind; “at three o’clock, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which is translated, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’” (Mark 15:34; Matthew 27:46). I’m sure we all have uttered those words sometime during a painful or sorrowful event in our life. Those are the times that seem to stand still as I reflect on the pain and feeling of despair that those words portray. Life can be full of its up times, and it can also be full of its down ones also. None of us today will ever know what is in store for our future like Jesus did in his life and in his passion. We are to live life as we see fit but also live it with passion, love and inspiration. Whatever happened yesterday and the days before are history, just like that final day of his life. We can only learn from our past and pick our heads up with no shame from it. I chose those three words today for two reasons. One is for the ones in my family who joke with me on it and the other is because we are all a reflection of that great and mysterious man many years ago that walked our earth as one of us, and who made an everlasting impact. I urge you all to live life to the fullest starting today with a passion, like tomorrow will be your last. We all have the chance to make some difference in life like he did and to burn that internal flame brightly! Don’t wait, live now! Don’t waste a moment again! TGIF everyone!! Enjoy this most momentous day and holiday weekend!! Have a wonderful Easter my friends! Peace, hope and love!!
