The Christian community in this day seems to have no fight in it. We will “earnestly contend for the faith” when it comes to the mode of baptism or eschatology, but standing against the culture or the encroachments of government seems to be too small of an issue. It is much easier to focus on “get them in and get them saved” than to take any personal risk and “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” (Ephesians 5:11). It is so easy to preach about the lives of biblical figures as an evangelistic message but fail to apply their examples in our own lives.
