The Christian life is a race much like a marathon, one with mountains and valleys (highs and lows), but God is always with us. We are to look ahead toward Heaven at the finish line. We are not to "give up." We are to run with endurance. (Hebrews 12:1) ....and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Keep your focus on Christ when we become weary. When we are faced with persecution, we are to be Christ-like, and not give up. Christ ignored the shame of the cross for all of us. Because of Jesus triumphing over the cross and what He did for us, we can be victorious also. (Hebrews 12:2) Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
