The Christmas ornaments on Dock grade are back! I was driving - TopicsExpress

The Christmas ornaments on Dock grade are back! I was driving back late from the holiday fare in the dark tired, and dangling sparkly bits caught my eye with a wave of good feelings for the beauty. This apparently new tradition just started last year in a secret wave of activity, and like all fun things has had some backlash of people thinking it was awful. I have always been a person who loved exploring all sorts of beliefs in the world in religions and life, and it always shocks me when people try to stop others from showing their joy through the symbols and traditions they love. Apparently non-Christian people were resenting these baubles hanging over Dock grade because it appeared to be pushing Christianity in everyone elses faces. In reality thats pretty ridiculous because these baubles actually have a much older origin pre-Christianity. One of the original concepts this country was founded on was religious freedom along with our other freedoms. Sadly, the very freedom that we have today because of those ancestors that struggled and fought and died and built to create what we have, also seems to be allowing some people the freedom to tell people of another religion or way of life that they no longer have religious freedoms. Last year when I first noticed the dangle leave bright balls was during a snow, and every ball was With a cute little Gnome hat of snow. The gorge was filled with fog everything was white except the bright shiny colorful balls that made me smile. Last night I was tired and a little stressed and when I saw the shiny balls limbing out of the dark it lifted my spirits. I dont care if you call them holiday balls, Christmas balls, or ancient symbols of life and harvest, I just call them pretty and give thanks
