The Christmas season is winding down to the big finale! Way too quick, I might add. Christian or not, theres nothing more festive than the lights, the music, the movies and animations, the fellowship, the giving and receiving of special cards and gifts of love. Of course, Love is the greatest gift of all, and there is no greater Blessing to the heart than when Love is the one accepted gift. Thus, our theme for this fourth Sunday of Advent is Love. Today is the Winter Solstice, meaning its the shortest day with the longest night. For some, these long nights make for a blue Christmas. Should you be struggling to feel the joy of Christmas, I pray deeply and earnestly that you find Peace in the Christmas Light. It may be difficult to feel now, but God understands. Jesus came to this world in the worst of conditions but with the greatest message for All who feel hopeless. Imagine a mothers anguish in being turned away from the comforts of this world, to birth your first child in a hole cut out of a hillside for animals to find shelter. If your heart is heavy, please talk with your pastor, or get in touch with me and well look for Christmas Peace together. God does Love You! There truly is Joy to the World, its just not provided by this world. With or without the gifts, this is the greatest time of the year. Jesus is more than the reason for the season. Jesus IS the season! I pray no one misses it. While a White Christmas would be the icing on the proverbial cake, I find a deeper Love for it all when, like this secular song says, … I hear the bells Saying Christmas is near They ring out to tell the world That this is the season of cheer I hear a choir Singing sweetly somewhere And a glow fills my heart, Im at peace with the world As the sound of their singing fills the air ... I hear a child Telling Santa what to bring And the smile upon his tiny face Is worth more to me than anything Oh, why cant everyday be like Christmas Why cant that feeling go on endlessly For if everyday could be just like Christmas What a wonderful world this would be If Every Day Could Be Like Christmas
