The Church Project: The modern day traditions of the church - TopicsExpress

The Church Project: The modern day traditions of the church world restrict advancement in learning and the participation of those attending. There is a lock-down on what can be said. Only things that affirm the preconceived denominational conclusions and practices are allowed to be spoken, and only people who affirm those conclusions and practices are allowed to speak. The result of this has been a freeze on any advancement in the modern day church world, a perpetuation of fallacies, a suppression of sincere men of God who refuse to compromise their integrity, an oppressive church hierarchy that prefers control over sound reason. Tradition is the guide, not truth. Unfortunately, the world has not been stagnant. It is only the modern day church that restricts dialogue and examination, while simultaneously being very inactive in social matters that are in direct opposition to everything it says it stands for. The world regularly holds Christianity under the microscope to dismantle it, raising objections about the Bible, doctrines, morality, the existence of the Creator and his Messiah, pushing for social laws that are repugnant to everything righteous, pumping ungodly media into the children’s minds … And yet the churches remain silent and boxed in. Where is the outcry? Where is the rebuttal? Where is the defense? The sound reason? The call to repentance? The organizing of the people? The stand against ungodliness? The Goal: The goal of this endeavor is to organize Christian meetings where men can share openly about their convictions. From non-traditional theological views (or even a defense of various traditions), to calls for repentance, calls for community involvement, questions that skeptics raise, projects to address genuine needs, etc., these things can be laid bare and presented without suppression or persecution. The result of this will hopefully be growth in learning, exposure of falsehoods that keep the church stagnant, organization of our communities towards righteousness, calls to be real with God rather than having superficial religion… But the result is not up to me, nor to any mortal man, but will be developed by the collective of those participating. Notwithstanding, at no point will the majority dictate to the minority, even if it is a single man, what can be said. Why is this important? Well, for one, throughout recorded history the men of God who were sent to the people with a message from God were rejected by both society and the religious communities (Luke 6:22-23). This is not something that will be permitted in our meetings. This may sound like something that would be disorderly chaos, but there will be guidelines in place that will give order to the meetings procession, both preserving the rights of the minority and allowing the majority to have deciding votes on the themes that will comprise the main presentation portion of the meetings. An overview of the meetings procession is as follows: A time of prayer and worship to God; Not an abstract deity, but the God of Israel. This is a Christian meeting. Reading of the guideline literature by volunteers, which will lay out the rights and rules of the meeting. The main presentation in the meeting. The presentation part of each meeting will be something voted on at the end of the previous meeting. Anyone can propose a presentation (which will include who will present it), from an evangelistic message, to a debate, to a theological discourse, presentation on community activism (like organizing folks to vote for something or protest something), on prophecy, watch a video of something, biblical archaeology, etc. The two minute mic pass is when any man can share or ask questions, even if they are not liked or they disagree with everyone else there. During this time, a man can share whatever he wants (within moral guidelines laid out in the charter). After everyone who wants to has shared, a person can share again. This is when proposals for the next meeting’s main presentation should be made. Closing literature read by volunteers, urging unity and love, acceptance of truth, and affirming our Christian base. Free lunch afterward (the Charter will lay out guidelines for this). Open fellowship during this time. (Still have to work on the Charter, which will lay out guidelines for electing a moderator, his limitations, how he can be voted out, how collections can be made requiring complete financial transparency, the vote for who does worship (turns on this, etc., with votes for who will do it most), the process of the free lunch, etc.)
