The City Council of Atlanta will meet today @1pm to vote on proposed Community Benefits Agreement. NOT PLAN! The City of Atlanta and Invest Atlanta have been rapidly pushing to have the current city council approve this shallow and incomplete Plan. This plan comes from the majority appointed Commnity Benefits Agreement Committee which has failed to fairly, justly and righteously represent the most impoverished communities(physically) of Vine City and English Avenue. MOST CRITICALLY, THERE IN NO INTENT TO NEGOTIATE AN AGREEMENT WITH OUR COMMUNITIES AFTER A PLAN IS APPROVED. THE MAYORS CONCERN is to get a Plan approved so they can allow Invest Atlanta to move to validate the 200 million bond authorization. As a life long life resident of this city, born and now living in Vine City I ask as the Souther Chairperson of the National Coaltion of Blacks for Reparation, The Intl Chaplain of the U.N.IA. C.E.O. Of the National Denfense for Justice, Bishop of The African Orthodox Catholic Church, The Afrikatown Project, The Historic Atlanta Westside United Coalition, Afrika House, The Sankofa Cultural Center and The Marcus Garvey School and other orgamixations that I am apart of ; in the words of our Ancestor Queen Mother Dorothy Benton Lewis in an article entitled: The Injust Laws; Another Reparations Issue: How do agrrements crafted by criminals and for the sole benefit of criminals get accepted, codified, and defended as the law? Join us this evening here at 240 Sunset Ave. N.W begiining at 5:00pm and for a Community meeting/ Vigil of Hope for Vine City and English Ave following @6:30pm next door in front of the homes of Dr and Mrs. M.L. King Jr and former Mayor Maynard Holbrook Jackson. This will be th beginning of series of Vigils and Historical Community Walks for Justice every night this week.
