The City of Gaithersburg’s Multicultural Affairs Committee, in partnership with the Montgomery County Office of Community Partnerships and the Gaithersburg Library, will celebrate Arab American Heritage Month with a community festival on Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Gaithersburg Library, Second Floor, 18330 Montgomery Village Avenue. The free event will feature family activities that include henna, calligraphy, games, storytelling, music, and arts and crafts. Proclamations will be presented by Iman Awad from Governor Martin O’Malley’s office, County Executive Ike Leggett and Gaithersburg Mayor Sidney Katz recognizing the Arab American community for its achievements and contributions to the fabric of our society.
