The City of Louisville, MS was devastated by a violent tornado on the eve of April 28th, 2014. As the city’s businesses and residents recover and rebuild it became clear to Deacon Claiborne that the construction on the building for Still Valley Missionary Baptist Church could not start immediately. However, the community wanted to know if they would rebuild. “Not a single day had gone by when someone wouldnt ask if we are going to rebuild,” said Deacon Claiborne. After the debris was removed and faced with an empty lot, it was decided that a new sign could and would be installed. Today, a Stewart sign stands in front of an empty slab with a simple message, ’Construction Zone, God at work’, a symbol of hope to the community that the building will follow. Deacon Claiborne said, “We wanted to erect the sign to say that if it is God’s will we are coming back. Hopefully soon.”
