The Colin London cup was held at Withersdale on Sunday and was a great success in the glorious sunshine! In the first match of the day HLC went down 3-1 to Harleston Veterans in a very competitive match. Andrew Thorpe hit a hat trick for the vets with Matthew Goreham scoring for HLC. In the main event, Harleston first team took on a Rob Knox all star XI including Towns Captain Ryan London, Olly Willis & Nick Howell of Thurlow Nunn Premier League winners Dereham & Jame Pipe who played for both Thetford & Diss last season. Once again Town first team were victorious to retain the cup for the fourth successive year with a 3-1 victory. The first half of the game was very close with chances at either end and but Town went in ahead 1-0 at the break after a good finish from Jake Imrie just before the break. Town began to take control after the break and Jake Imrie added a second before an Imrie cross was turned into his own net by a defender to give Town a 3-0 lead. James Pipe pulled a goal back for The All Stars with well struck free kick but Town held on to retain their grip on a the trophy that they have won every year it has been contested so far. It was yet another great day for the event and we hope a large sum of money was raised for an excellent cause!
