The Committee for Joint Action (CJA) after going quiet without a - TopicsExpress

The Committee for Joint Action (CJA) after going quiet without a cough for several years decided to speak yesterday. Interestingly it was to bash the opposition. I thought civil society groups like the CJA worked in the public interest, projecting and representing the interest of the social class. What are the aims and objectives of the CJA? Have they lived up to them? After supporting a so called social democratic party to come to power. Social amenities have seen a significant rise in their tariffs, pushing up cost of living without a resultant increase in incomes. Worse of all, is that the eratic power supply has worsened the plight of citizens and businesses. Social intervention programmes have either broken down or encountered mgt lapses. Crude oil prices have dropped below 50% from $109 to below $50, and yet the automatic adjustment formula has been thrown away. The cedi is gaining value against the dollar but govt has rather added a 17.5% tax on petroleum prices. These have contributed to significant levels of hardships on the people and businesses. What does the CJA have to say about these? What has changed today people cant find their voices? Is it because the CJA membership mostly, have become govt appointees and even President? Was the CJA a vehicle used to achieve a certain purpose? Is it that members are comfortable today and therefore see no evil, hear no evil? Whats the word? HYPOCRITICAL? They should stop wasting our time.
