The Committee of the Whole met tonight in order to hear concerns from neighbors of Salem State University regarding their plans to build a large parking garage on the north campus. The abutters to this garage object to the plan based on the bulk, height, and location of the structure. There are also concerns as to air, noise, and light pollution. Councillors OKeefe and Turiel, whose wards are most affected in this matter will draft a resolution to present to the full council for approval at the regular meeting this Thursday. This resolution will go to the president of SSU and the Board of Trustees.
