The Community Improvement Committee is working to rebrand Brockton - TopicsExpress

The Community Improvement Committee is working to rebrand Brockton and the Saugeen River to become known as a fisherman’s haven, based on the 2011 ‘Walkerton Research Summary developed by Spruce the Bruce: including sculptural bike racks, bridge art work, A- frame signs, a traffic island art installation near Tim Horton’s, recycling containers, benches and a wall art installation. These projects have been funded through partnerships with the local service clubs, Downtown merchants, local businesses, a fundraiser by the Walkerton ‘Fashion District’, the Environmental Advisory Committee, the Walkerton BIA and the County of Bruce through its Spruce the Bruce Downtown revitalization program. Countless Volunteer hours have been spent planning, fundraising and communicating with all partners. The symbolic riverweed artwork on the Tim Horton’s island will be enhanced by a garden in the spring and the sign posted there stating that Brockton tax dollars were wasted is erroneous. NO funding was used from the Municipality of Brockton
