The Community of Wabasca-Desmarais is in mourning as Eli Robert Cardinal, age 27, died Thursday. His obituary appears in todays Edmonton Journal and Margo Auger is posting the following regarding the celebration of his life planned for Tuesday: Family and friends of Eli Cardinal: the Celebration of Life will take place Tuesday October 21, 1 p.m. at Lakeview Sports Centre. The family would like to thank you all for your ongoing support and in the days to come. A temporary trust fund will be set-up to accept donations in-lieu of flowers to the Kidney Foundation in Elis memory or by the gift of life: donating blood at the Canadian Blood Bank. Eli was an awesome musician and quite naturally, the celebration will have a lot of music. Eli loved his community and the work he did during his short time on earth. If we could all learn from his leadership and take the time to be that motivator, the volunteer, or that inspirational messenger to make a positive difference in one persons life, we believe our community would be a better place.
