The Conditions the Mngomezulu Family lived under that prompted the result which all the KwaNongoma residents are witnessing today. - They lived under squalid circumstances – inadequate housing with zero furniture and sanitation facilities. - They went without proper food on the table most of the time. - They were poorly clothed to an extent that the only schooling child missed several years of schooling. He is still doing Grade 6 at age 17 due to the lack of a school uniform, other school needs and decent everyday clothing. - The destitution was made worse by so many deaths of siblings and infant mortality resulting in family members leading a depressed and unfulfilled life. The remaining siblings and their children are broken and scattered. - The elderly lady is visibly traumatized and desperate.
