The Congress lost me when Indira Gandhi imposed emergency. Using the law of the land to grab and hold on to power ( besides all the other atrocities ) was not something that went well with me. I had BJP leanings but they really lost me when they started making a mockery of #AAP value based actions especially on social media - AK stepped down from power in 49 days when the Congress did not support the anti corruption bill. This has been ridiculed into #AK49 - AK did not want lavish accommodations that others moved into as a matter of right. His desire to live modest and not pile on the trappings of power was made into a mockery. One joke went around that he does not wear underwear because it has VIP written on it. - AKs ethic based approach was converted into the hashtag #YoKejriSoHonest series. One went on to say that he reads the terms and conditions before clicking yes. Another said that women refrain from asking him if they look fat. - Yesterday the trending hashtag was #Kejridivas No opportunity was lost in using the day to its fool effect. All the above may make for flippant ( I refrain from using the term gutter ) humour, but to a thinking man can be really disturbing. To take the ethical values that are so missing in governance today and to make a mockery of it only reflects the prurient tastes of those in power at its helm. It is like a organisation where everyone fudges the travel voucher and the one individual who refuses to do so, is mocked at. Even worse, scorned. If I want change, whom should I support, I asked myself.
