The Constitution of Trinidad and Tobago does not provide for the right to a speedy trial or a trial within a reasonable time, only the right to a fair trial. Can it be a fair trial after 15 years and you are found innocent? The theory of presumed innocent until guilty should be enough incentive to have speedy trials. Trinidad and Tobago is being held to ransom by real criminals, the protective services with their pathetic detection rate and the judiciary with their institutionalized procrastination that they refer to in the most eloquent manner as adjournment. These are the public servants that everyone should focus on. #tandt #speedytrials #worldwewant #TBM #14tandt #soicalimpact #ttyouths
