The Consulate of Pakistan Mashhad organized Quran-khwani for the martyrs of the Army Public School, Peshawar. Ulema and students offered prayers for the departed souls, their parents and the country. The Quran-khwani was followed by a condolence session and a memorial service held at the Community Hall, in which Pakistani community of Mashhad and Iranians participated. Consul Generals/Heads of Consular Missions, representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Iran, religious scholars and students, businessmen and media personnel paid a rich tribute to the brave Pakistani nation and acknowledged its sacrifices in the war against terrorists. They condemned the Peshawar incident strongly, appreciated the resolve of the young students and their parents, and hoped that the Pakistani political and military leadership’s strong commitment to up-root terrorism will continue. Later-on a candle light vigil was held at the Consulate and children sang patriotic songs to praise the martyrs of Peshawar.
