The Contact Group on Ukraine will meet next week to discuss the political status of the eastern regions. The Prime Minister of the self-declared Donetsk Peoples Republic says the meeting will look at granting special status to Donetsk and Luhansk under the terms of the recent ceasefire deal. Meanwhile, heavy shelling near the airport in Donetsk put at least two houses ablaze. Shelling was also reported late Saturday in the port city of Mariupol where a woman was killed. The city council has accused pro-Russians of breaking the truce. Similarly, pro-Russians accuse government soldiers of violating the ceasefire. In a statement, they said several pro-Moscow forces were killed on Saturday. The ceasefire deal was signed on Friday to end nearly five months of fighting in Ukraine’s east.
