The Cooweescoowee Health Center is a new clinic for the Cherokee - TopicsExpress

The Cooweescoowee Health Center is a new clinic for the Cherokee Nation located in Ochelata, Oklahoma. We provided structural and civil engineering services for this 28,000 square foot health center designed by Selser Schaefer Architects and constructed by Cherokee Nation Construction Resources. The name “Cooweescoowee” was Principal Chief John Ross’s Cherokee name, and the northwest district was named in his honor. John Ross was the longest serving Cherokee chief, leading the Cherokee people from 1828 to 1866. Through the photos below, you can see the progress of the project starting in March 2014 with the dirt pad all the way through December 9th, 2014, with brick going on the exterior and the roads and parking lots prepared for paving. The project is set to open in early 2015. #transformationtuesday
