The Copperas Cove Police Department answered a call on Saturday at 4:59 p.m. pertaining to the theft of an air conditioner unit worth $3,000 in the 1200 block of South 15th Street. Jelante Kuviano Sanders was arrested in the 100 block of Spur Drive on Saturday at 5:06 a.m. for burglary of a vehicle and being drunk in public. Nothing was damaged in this incident, but money in the amount of $16.37 was stolen from the vehicle but was then recovered. Sanders was issued a citation. Cove police responded to two more incidents of theft of United States currency on Saturday. In the first incident, reported at 11:36 a.m., money in the amount of $500 was reported stolen. The second incident was reported at 3:40 p.m. from the 1500 block of Joe Morse Drive where money in the amount of $42 was stolen in a theft of service case. An unauthorized use of a vehicle was reported on Saturday at 8:28 a.m. from a location on Latern Circle. Bonnie Louise Caldwell was arrested at this same location on Latern Circle at 12:16 p.m. in connection with the unauthorized use of a vehicle reported at 8:28 a.m. the same day. A cell phone worth $600 was reported stolen on Saturday at 5:59 p.m. from the Walmart area. A residential burglary was reported on Saturday at 11:32 p.m. from the 1200 block of South 23rd Street where jewelry and a clock altogether valued at $2,200 were stolen. Warrant issued by Justice of the Peace Price. Accident: 1200 block East Avenue D. Found property: 300 block East Avenue E. Found: eye glasses. Theft of service under $50: 1500 block Joe Morse Drive. Stolen: United States currency. Value: $42. Theft over $1,500 under $20,000: 1200 block S. 15th St. Stolen: air conditioner unit. Value: $3,000. Theft over $500 under $1,500: 2700 block East Highway 190. Stolen: cell phone. Value: $600. Assault by contact/family violence: 4100 block Wine Cup Road. No charges filed. Assault causing bodily injury/family violence: 600 block Lincoln Avenue. No charges filed. Burglary of a habitation: 1200 block S. 23rd St. Stolen: jewelry and clock. Total value: $2,200.
