The Coptic Church gets a $50,000 handout from the State government for a hall upgrade. What is the HALL? And what does the upgrade involve? Increased capacity, maybe? Just about everything on the St Marks site is masquerading as something other than what it was approved for. This is a very affluent church that has successfully evaded provisions for additional parking despite many expansions. Neighbouring residents have had to carry the burden of the extra traffic, parking and noise as a result of those expansions. And yet we have OUR representatives (such as Cr Michael Nagi and Cr Nicholas Mickovski) acting as though the Church is the aggrieved party.
