The Cotton family will face a tense time on EastEnders next week when the police arrive at their home with questions over Nicks whereabouts. Nick (John Altman) has been hiding out at his mother Dots house over the past few weeks, as the majority of the Walford residents remain unaware that he is alive. It was previously reported that the police would arrive on Albert Square looking for Nick, but the new twist comes following Phils arrest for attempted murder. Viewers know that it was actually Nick who sabotaged the brakes on the car which caused the recent crash on the Square, but his ex-wife Yvonne is currently the only Walford resident aware of this. As the police arrive and announce they believe Nick could be alive and in hiding, Charlie, Yvonne and Dot stand terrified as their house is searched for evidence. The family all deny any knowledge of Nicks whereabouts and the police eventually leave, causing Charlie to head out to find Nick. When Charlie returns, he is shocked to learn that Phil is the main suspect for sabotaging the car, but is Nick in the clear? Or will he be caught out? EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, January 6 and Wednesday, January 7 on BBC One.
