The Countryside Alliance are not the voice of rural people. BBC - TopicsExpress

The Countryside Alliance are not the voice of rural people. BBC coverage should not pander to their assumptions. goo.gl/LLbPiD There is a warped view of rural areas created by the Countryside Alliance. To them the whole countryside exists just so a tiny amount of people can kill foxes or shoot birds for fun. This is not reality and more organisations, Government departments and the wider public should challenge the CA and reject their opinions. The BBC needs to look wider on who it gains a view from. Those involved in blood sport are not the guardians of the countryside and neither are they voice of rural communities. Over many decades the BBC has presented blood sport as just a harmless activity carried out by upstanding citizens. They have ignored the extreme animal cruelty that is inflicted and routinely failed to enable a counter view to be heard on their broadcasts. However the days of the BBC going unchallenged in how they report the news is over. They have a duty to society as a whole and must be balanced in how they report. If the BBC panders to only one view. A view that sees killing wildlife as the be all and end all of rural society then they would have failed to create balance. Presenting a false view of rural people and letting the majority of rural people down.
